3xBlast
Published on the 21st November 2024.
3xBlast combines chiptune, pop-punk and vocaloid into cheery beats. The main song language is English. It features about 20 vocaloid originals and covers created over the past 4 years (about half and half). The vocaloid songs use a Miku voice bank. The songs are mostly themed about modern online pop-culture and video games. I discovered this artist with SUPERCHAT– I Don’t Think This Parasocial Relationship Is Working Out, which is by far their most popular song with a view counter of 150k. A lot of the songs use heavily drums. In my opinion, this balance harms a lot of the songs because it drowns out the unique melody and catchy lyrics. Since most of the songs are already chaotic in their theme and instrument choice (which is completely fine in it of itself), I think it’d be easy to get strong moments in each song to make them memorable. For example, I think The Best Move Is To Keep Going would be amazing if the voice had at least a moment to shine throughout the song. Those wide drums were definitely a plus on Mutated Hearts where the atmosphere is one of the most melancolic from this artist. The Miku tuning on most songs is very dynamic. On Video Store it’s brought to a hundred and feels very appropriate to support the frantic and overwordly theme in the lyrics.
I’ll be looking forward to the new releases of this artist, hoping to find a gem, but probably won’t come back unprompted to old releases.
